The Antioch Lakewood Mission is the fourth mission church to be organized by Antioch Baptist Church North under the leadership of its pastor, the Rev. Cameron M. Alexander. The Lakewood Mission held its very first Worship Service on the First Sunday in August of 1994. Approximately 30 people attended the service, with one submitting their life to Christ.
The site and facilities of the Lakewood Mission were purchased in July of 1994, from the Rev. Layton Sampson and his congregation to provide housing and support services for persons recovering from tuberculosis. It is believed that God wanted our pastor and our McDonough Boulevard area when the Rev. Sampson and his congregation closed the doors of their Antioch Baptist Church. The Reverends Cameron and Kenneth Alexander believed it was “divine intervention” to bring the strong, sensitive, spiritual presence of Antioch North to the Antioch McDonough location. As a result, the “old” sanctuary was renovated to meet housing needs for persons with non-infectious tuberculosis and the main sanctuary was rededicated to serving the important spiritual needs of those housed in the “old” sanctuary as well as those living in the surrounding community.
Best described in the words that old familiar song......”little money is raised, but many, many souls are saved, and talking ‘bout a good time, Lord, Lord we talking ‘bout a good time.

The missionary work of the Antioch Lithia Springs Mission began on October 28, 2001. The first sermon preached by Rev. Ervin L. Richards was “Let Your Light Shine”, (Matthew 5:14-16). This sermon was a two-fold charge to the members: “Do our best to shine bright for the Lord in Lithia Springs; and do good works, so that the God our Father would be glorified.”
As the mission grows, several ministries have blossomed: “Evangelism, Ushers, and Junior Deacons.” Since its beginning, the Lithia Springs Mission has served as a beacon of light in the community as it stands on witnessing.

During its first year, more than 3,600 have been served spiritual and physical food. Twenty souls have given their life to Christ and ten have dedicated themselves to the Christian walk.
Under the leadership of its dynamic presiding minister, Rev. Carlton Williams, the Madison House Mission has been both faithful and fruitful, knowing that god expects both from him. Rev. Williams prides himself on providing leadership where Jesus preached and the people are reached!

On Sunday, March 25, 2001, the Rev. Sean Smith called to worship the first Worship Service of Antioch’s seventh mission church. The Mission has “toiled” steadfast for twelve months, believing as Pastor Alexander proclaims so triumphantly, “We have more going for us, than we have going against us!” The Mission continues to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of Jesus Christ.
In just one year, the Mission has established committees and auxiliaries that include Outreach, Finance, New Member Orientation, Welcome/Visitor, Bible Study, Children’s Church, Choir and a Youth Program. Rev. Smith sees the Mission as a place to “grow and glow” in such a manner that will bring joy to the hearts of our “Mother” Church family and to honor the Lord.

Wednesday Bible Study: 6:00 p.m.
Sunday Worship Service: 10:45 a.m., Sunday School: 9:30 a.m.
The Land of Promise has its roots and mission in saving men suffering from the life threatening infirmities of addiction. The mission and ministry are directed and managed by the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, where our pastor, the Rev. Cameron M. Alexander serves as president. The mission is fortunate to be located on 273 acres of beautiful farmland in Culloden, Georgia, away from urban society, enabling men to re-establish a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
The late Rev. Earlie Maddox was the first presiding minister for the Land of Promise. Through his consistent and courageous leadership coupled with the help of Rev. Cameron Alexander and Rev. Kenneth Alexander, Rev. Maddox provided ministerial support without compromising the traditions of the Land’s sole mission, which is to guide those suffering from the evils of addiction to recovery though a structured program that incorporates work ethics, study, worship, prayer and fellowship. Thousands of men have served at the mission of the Land of Promise.
Under the very capable leadership of its new presiding, Rev. J.W. Calvin, Jr., the Land of Promise continues to gallant crusade to save and serve those men and women that are all too often counted among the least, the less, and the lost.
